What is the difference between Keyword Search and Browse Lists?
Keyword Search finds items that match the words you enter in the search box. Use Keyword Search when you dont know the subject heading, you aren’t sure of the exact title, or you know the author’s last name (or the last names of two or more authors/editors). A keyword search is generally more flexible than a Browse Lists search, although you will probably retrieve more results. Advanced Search is just like a Keyword Search but has additional search options for you to choose from. Browse Lists displays a list of items in alphabetical order based on the words you enter in the search box. Use Browse Lists when you know the subject heading, the exact title (or beginning of the title), or the author’s last name and first initial. Results are displayed as an alphabetical list of headings related to your search terms. Headings are assigned by librarians according to Library of Congress classification and are very specific.
