What is the difference between Parkinsons disease and Parkinsonism?
Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a chronic, slowly progressive neurodegenerative disease characterized clinically by the presence of at least two of three cardinal features: resting tremor, bradykinesia (slowness of movement) with resulting rigidity, and impaired postural reflexes. The term Parkinsonism refers to a range of conditions that includes Parkinson’s disease, Parkinson-like syndromes (including drug-induced Parkinsonism), and conditions that mimic Parkinson’s disease. • Is there a cure for PD?
