What is the difference between pre and post Operating System backups?

0

Pre-Operating System (OS), or below the OS, means that the backup is performed as an image, before Windows runs. RR Ultra will boot the system into a pre-OS protected mode, and will create a sector based backup image. Post-Operating System (OS), or above the OS, means that the backup is a file based incremental backup, created in addition to the image backup. These file based backups occur in the normal Windows operating environment.
