What is the difference between “Rec” and “Select” Soccer?
“Rec” soccer is less competitive than “Select” soccer and is available for all players at all age levels. “Select” soccer is a more competitive level of soccer that is available at the U11 age level and above, and requires players to try-out to make a team. When a child decides to play “Select” soccer, they are making a commitment to the sport and their team and are expected to participate in all practices and games. To be selected for a team means they are taking a spot from another player and must be committed to the team.
