What is the difference between the Patriot Sentinel Riders and Patriot Guard Riders?
The Patriot Guard Riders are a diverse group of motorcycle riders and non-riders whose main mission is to provide hearse escort and guard the funeral services for fallen American heroes and their families. They also shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by protestors. By contrast, the Patriot Sentinel Riders are military veterans and support members. All ride motorcycles and respond to military veteran issues such as benefits, veteran rights and assistance, community awareness and support for military veterans, POW-MIA recovery and accountability, and support of military family members. We visit the wounded and sick veterans at various VA hospitals, attend and support veteran events including those of other clubs and organizations, identify individual veteran needs and respond accordingly, maintain the Mare Island Naval Cemetery in Vallejo on a monthly basis, and we partner with the City of Antioch in planning both the Memorial Day service and the Vete
