What is the difference between thermal, inkjet, and silkscreen printing and how do I know which one to choose?
Thermal printing is for 1-color jobs, mainly used for text and logos and is printed on a silver disc. We have the capability to thermal print black, blue, and red. Inkjet printing is for Full Color jobs for quantities less than 500 and is printed on white inkjet printable discs. We have the capability of printing to the hub if needed, as well, as applying a UVC Cured Lacquer Coating. Silkscreen printing is for larger quantities, mainly greater than 500. We can print up to 6-colors for any type of label you may have. Silkscreening involves a process where a screen is made of a piece of porous, finely woven fabric, stretched over a frame. Areas of the screen are blocked off with a non-permeable material to form a stencil, which is a negative of the image to be printed; that is, the open spaces are where the ink will appear.
