Real time recording uses 30 frames per second (fps) recording technology. To be able to do this type of recording efficiently, digital recording is highly recommended. Time-lapse recording can be anywhere from 2 or 3 fps per second to 30 fps. The main disadvantage of time lapse recording is the longer the record time, the more information will be missing.
