What is the difference between verbal irony and sarcasm?

0

verbal irony is when you said something but it has a double meaning to something that you did not meant to say that is ironic, sarcasm is when you said something and meant something else with the opposite manner. For Example: Sarcasm: I said, “OH MY GOD you’re so funny!” when you said something that is not funny or just make fun of me and I said it in a Sarcastic tone Verbal Irony is when you said, “This water is so pured and clean.” but without knowing that you’re drinking from the sewer, that’s ironic.
