What is the difference for the student/family between students enrolled in FLVSCA and those enrolled through a district program?

There is no difference in the school program that will be provided to students based on their type of enrollment. Students enrolled in district programs are public school students and are required to take the FCAT. All students in a district program must have been enrolled in a Florida public school during October 2007 and February 2008. Students enrolled in FLVSCA who are not assigned to a school district are considered home education students and must register with their school district as such. Since other school districts are also considering offering the Connections Academy program for 200809, students will not know whether they will be assigned to a school district or be required to register as a home education student until September 30. Students must be willing to accept assignment to a school district and to be required to take the FCAT in order to enroll.
