What is the DUO Cooperative Work Arrangement (CWA)?
Liz designed the Cooperative Work Arrangement loosely in 1988. It was designed to allow both Greg and Liz to work the same job with only one contracted to the project. The other remained transparent and served in a subservient posture even though they were informally “partnered.” Greg talked to some of the contract service firms operating at that time, and it was agreed to “push” the concept to client companies with special needs, particularly short-term, difficult-to-staff projects. It was a success, with Greg and Liz applied since 1988, and DUO working in this manner since 1991. The DUO contractor gets paid weekly (or sometimes bi-weekly), the liability issue is addressed by the contract services firm/consulting company; the standard billing practices of today (and then) are applied between the contract services firms/consulting companies and the client company, i.e., 30/60/90-day.
