eCareNet is also known as OACIS. OACIS is an acronym for Open Architecture Clinical Information System and is MUSC’s primary electronic medical record (EMR). It is a data repository for patient results collected by other systems/programs within the hospital. Other systems, such as Lab’s Cerner and Radiology’s IDXRad, are constantly feeding results into eCareNet. You can view many different types of data including, Lab results, Inpatient and outpatient registration information, ultrasound reports and catheterization reports. For a complete list of available data elements available in eCareNet please review the following questions and answers.
