What is the Fox Tuition approach to lazy students?
Typically, lots of students are considered to be ‘lazy’ and ‘work-shy’, yet few seem to ask the question: why? Low motivation is one of the biggest reasons for poor performance. However, the typical approach of labelling students as ‘lazy’ is ineffective and can compound the problem. Our approach is firm but fair. Firm Every student starting on the Fox Tuition course will make a firm, unequivocal, written and recorded commitment to the course. This will include committing to handing in work on time, approaching their mistakes in the right way, and doing the necessary reading to be adequately prepared for each lesson. It will be made clear to the student that any violation of this commitment will be immediately reported, not only to the student, but also to their parents, and it will also be made clear how this will affect their overall plan unless immediate action is taken. A reporting system is in place whereby if the student is late, or underperforms, or fails to complete their work,
