A photosynthetic “cell” contains colored pigments (chloroplast, etc) which absorb certain waves of light. These waves combined with CO2 (and other forms of cellular energy for reactions) create an exorbitant about while expiring O2. Yay for plants. It’s a big chemical reaction.
