In order to point out the absurdity of Jan Peczkis’ claim, it is useful to review the concept of the Geologic column as conceived by Geologists. The Geologic Column is an ordering of the rock record on Earth since it formed. The historical development of the Geologic column is an interesting review because it points out the rationale for its use and its importance in Geology.
