What is the governance framework for implementation of the VEN?
It is important to ensure that decisions relating to the implementation of the VEN are made independently of vested interests; are technically well grounded; are consistent with the larger vision of high-speed broadband connectivity across all sectors of education and training; and are informed by a thorough understanding of stakeholder circumstances and perspectives. Accordingly, the following have been established to advise on the implementation of the VEN: • An expert and independent Broadband for Education Committee (BEC) to provide independent advice on all matters relating to the implementation for the VEN. • A representative VEN Stakeholder Advisory Group (VSAG) to provide stakeholder input to the BEC on the implementation of the VEN. The BEC will seek advice from VSAG to ensure that the VEN is designed and implemented in a way which is well informed by stakeholder circumstances and perspectives.
