What is the grading policy in class?

• There are 5 grades in the class. Each grade is worth a total of 25%. There are a total of 4 tests (3 tests and a final exam) and 1 project. 10 quizzes are given throughout the semester. Each quiz equals 10 points and is an average of 10 questions over the chapter. The total of quizzes will replace the lowest test grade or your final exam if the quiz grade is an 80 or above. • Students may only be exempt from the final exam (test 4) if their quiz grade is an 80 or above and the student chooses to take their quiz average as their final exam score. If the quiz grade is not an 80 or above, the average will replace the lowest test grade and the student will take the final exam. Please refer to Hist1301-1302 Grading Scale for further details and a grade score sheet to help calculate and keep track of your average in class.
