What is the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and how do I register for it?
The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is a graduate admissions test that is required by many (but not all) graduate programs. You will need to contact your graduate programs of choice to determine if they require the GRE or any other standardized test to support your application for admission. The GRE measures critical thinking, analytical writing, verbal reasoning, and quantitative reasoning skills. You will want to schedule this test at least a few months prior to the application deadline to allow you time to retake the exam if necessary and to ensure that your scores will reach your prospective graduate programs by their application deadlines. Please see the GRE website for specific up to date information on how to register for this exam.
