Green book means that for a specialty, lets say IM, there is an ACGME-accredited residency at that hospital. Thus, when in clinicals, the IM rotation there is “green book”. When it comes time for liscensing, some states require that all your rotations be green. I don’t know the states off-hand but call up the state’s liscensing board that you wish to practice in to see exactly what is required.
