What is the half marathon route?
The Half Marathon will start at 7:00am on Broadway (the same time and location as the marathon). The Half Marathon course runs the established marathon route up to the 11.3 mile mark, located at the intersection of North Street and the Towpath, here the new Half Marathon will turn left heading southbound on the Towpath. Runners will be notified of the Half Marathon turn off via signage and speakers. Runners will move up to and over the walk bridge spanning the Inner-belt, and arrive at the 12 mile location on Ash and Quaker. The course turns left or north going about 200 feet then turns right (east) in front of the Akron City Centre Hotel (formerly the Radisson). Here runners will go just shy of 300 feet before entering a arching turn (under the walkway) to the left onto Dart Street where they proceed north .02 of a mile and turn right to join the marathon route at the 24.5 mile location.
