What is the highest number you can count to? AND what is the biggest number?

In essence, by definition, inifinity is the “largest” number, but it doesn’t actually fall within the real set of numbers. In a way, infinity is sort of like a number without end – you can’t really count to it, unless you had an endless amount of time to do so. If you want a finite number, there is the googol, which is 10^100, or a one, with a hundred zeros after it. Even bigger than that is the googolplex, which is 10^(10^100) – that’s really massive – it’s a one with a googol zeroes behind it. No matter how fancy all this looks, there are actually easier ways to write such large numbers, for instance 9^9^9^9^9^9^9 is actually a great deal bigger than even a googolplex. For numbers this large mathematicians use special types of notation.
