What Is the Identity Property of Multiplication?
“Hi my name is Samir Malik and I’m a tutor of middle school and high school students in the Austin area. Today we are going to be discussing the identity property of multiplication and the definition of the identity property of multiplication is the product of one and any number is that number and when I say product I mean multiplying that number by one to get that number. So I will illustrate this with a few examples. We have one 1 x 200 = 200, another example would be 1 x 50 = 50 and then another example would be 1 x 3000 = 3000 so we see here from the identity property of multiplication that any time you figure out the product of 1 and a number will always equal that number that you multiplied 1 with or that you wanted to find the product of that number.
