What is the Ivy League?
Ivy League is a group (not a committee) of Founders Grove neighbors who all share a love for gardening. The group meets through the season to cultivate gardening interests, share gardening knowledge and ideas, visit neighborhood gardens, and hold seasonally appropriate garden discussions and talks by local garden experts.

The Ivy League is comprised of eight universities (Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Pennsylvania, Princeton, and Yale) that over the years have had common interests in scholarship as well as in athletics. In 1945, the eight presidents entered into an agreement “for the purpose of reaffirming their intention of continuing intercollegiate football in such a way as to maintain the values of the game, while keeping it in fitting proportion to the main purposes of academic life.

The eight schools in the Ivy League are: Harvard University (1636), Yale University (1701), University of Pennsylvania (1740), Princeton University (1746), Columbia University (1754), Brown University (1764), Dartmouth College (1769), and Cornell University (1865).
