What is the JCAHO Seal?
JCAHO stands for the The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. JCAHO conducts periodic accreditation surveys of the hospital facilities including treatment centers, medical services departments and laboratories. Upon approval, healthcare organizations earn the right to display the prestigious Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval. Joint Commission standards deal with organization quality, safety-of-care issues and the safety of the environment in which care is provided.
