What is the life expectancy of electro-mechanical lock solenoids?

0

SDC solenoids may typically last 10 to 20 years depending on usage and proper input power. If the lock is not properly powered the solinoid life can be shorted significantly. SDC recently received a HiTower actuator controlled mortise lockset for solenoid replacement. This lock had been in a stairwell installation for 25 years. In such installations these locks generally energized at all times.
