What is the Making Home Affordable (MHA) Program?
The Making Home Affordable Program is part of the Obama Administration’s broad, comprehensive strategy to get the economy and the housing market back on track. The key components of the Making Home Affordable Program are: $25 billion for refinancing of loans where borrowers previously were unable to take advantage of lower interest rates or a more stable mortgage product because of falling home values. Incentives to provide loan modifications and other foreclosure alternatives, bringing monthly housing payments to levels which borrowers can afford today and in the future.
