What is the maximum recommended distance between WIVIS and PC?
If high quality data cable is used distances of 100 feet should not be a problem. It is recommended that some type of surge suppression is used on the PC serial port to protect the PC from voltage transients. The WIVIS-DSP normally does not require additional transient protection. For distances greater than 100 feet (up to 9 miles or more) limited distance modems (LDMs) may be used. Contact OSI Customer Service for more information.
