There isn’t specified maximum. VG networks can be very, very large. For instance, take a single 24 port hub (23 + 1 uplink) with 23 connected nodes using CAT 5 cable. If each node is at the 200m maximum cable distance from the hub, then the total cable length will be 4,600 meters (yes, 4.6 kilometers). This is a simple example, each node on multiple hubs can each be 200 meters from the hub. As you can see, VG networks can be physically very large. For more information see the next section.
