Information in a database system is grouped by common data such as imformation about people or information on office equipment. Data is stored in FileMaker Pro files (or tables for other database products) where each record contains unique information (about a person, for example). FileMaker Pro files can be related in the sense that a unique value for a field in one database file identifies one or more related records in another database file.
