What is the minimum wage in Virginia? Does the type of job make a difference?
It’s $6.55 an hour in Virginia right now, but it goes up to $7.25 in March and the type of job doesn’t make a difference unless you work at a place where you get tips and they’re considered part of your pay. If you choose to wait tables or bartend that’s usually where this happens. Then you would get less than minimum wage but you also get tips so it balances out. Hope that helped!
