What is the mission of The Smile Train?
Our mission is to help the millions of very poor children in developing countries who are suffering with unrepaired clefts. The only reason these children have NOT been helped is because they’re poor. The problem of clefts in developing countries is an economic problem – not a medical one. The families of these children – often living on less than $1 dollar a day – are too poor to ever afford to pay for surgery.
