What is the most likely pathway into the body for a contaminant that could cause cancer?
Drinking water is one of the most common ways a contaminant could theoretically enter the body. Drinking water can provide one of the strongest and most direct biological pathways. Given that the quality of drinking water is a common concern when an area is assessed for contamination, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has tested over 50 samples from wells in the Acreage community. Conclusions from the testing showed no indication of agricultural or industrial contamination in the water and water quality is considered to be good.
