The compiled information describes the paper trade document and its function in the supply chain process. The information is stored in a syntax neutral database. From this information base an electronic definition of the paper document is generated (UNeDocs Schema). UNeDocs will support both the UN/EDIFACT, X.12 and XML syntax. What is the UNeDocs Demonstrator? The UNeDocs Demonstrator is the first phase in the UNeDocs project. It will implement a UNeDocs electronic document solution to demonstrate feasibility and advantages. UNeDocs Demonstrator will implement an electronic document exchange between a leading international freight forwarder and small and medium sized companies that are in a customer relationship. Partners in this project are Panalpina (freight forwarding), the Polytechnic University of Lausanne (XML research), Tatis (e-commerce) and GEFEG (EDI expertise). The start of UNeDocs Demonstrator is subject to finance commitment.
