What is the National Training Framework?
The National Training Framework identifies the key components of the vocational education and training system at the national level, the relationships between those components as well as the quality assurance and recognition arrangements that enable individuals to gain national recognition. The framework has been developed to simplify the way training is regulated, who is responsible for it, and how high standards of quality can be guaranteed within Australia’s vocational education and training system. The National Training Framework consists of two interconnected features: • New Recognition Arrangements comprising revised and simplified arrangements (called the Australian Recognition Framework) for the recognition of training organisations and training products, and assuring quality of training provision. • Training Packages which integrate nationally available training products, including new assessment arrangements, with competency standards.
