WHAT IS THE NATURE OF THE PERSONAL COACHING RELATIONSHIP?
The ethical cornerstones of the Personal Coaching Relationship are Trust, Safety, Confidentiality, Respect and Compassion.In addition, the Personal Coaching Relationship is one of Equality between the client and personal coach. It is much like a business consulting relationship except that the personal coach has coaching expertise rather than business expertise. Similar to a consulting relationship, the personal coaching client decides on the specific goal she or he wishes to achieve.However, unlike business relationships, the personal coaching relationship is usually more open and friendly. Also, as “equals”, both client and personal coach are free to disclose personal information to each other.
