What is the NESSIE Foundation Stage?
The Nessie Foundation Stage is designed for children from age 2 to 5. It starts at Pinkies (ages 2-3) and ends in the Reception year (ages 4-5). Teachers help guide children toward the early learning goals through play and hands-on learning activities where they further their understanding by playing, talking, observing, planning, questioning, experimenting, testing, repeating, reflecting and responding to adults and to each other. We are also very proud of our Czech programme, which is introduced in Reception year for both native Czech speakers and non-native Czech speakers. Children are introduced not only to the language but also to the culture and history of their country. The Nessie Foundation Stage prepares children for further education, whether in Year 1 at Park Lane or in the Czech national school system. What are the early learning goals? At Nessie, children work toward Early Learning Goals throughout the three years of the Foundation Stage, but children do not need to start
