The District would like to optimize instructional and support opportunities for all students as efficiently as possible. From a financial standpoint only, larger is better. However, maximizing instructional opportunities and full-support services requires a minimum number of students of approximately 400. With the current options being reviewed by the Board of Education, having ten elementary schools results in an average building size of 372 while having nine elementary schools would result in an average enrollment of 414.
