School District of Ashland Gifted and Talented Education Program Philosophy and Definition In a society which seeks to challenge the abilities of all students, it is necessary that the Ashland School District provide educational programs which are in alignment with the needs, interests, and abilities of all students. The philosophy of the Ashland School District is to provide dynamic programs, committed to excellence, which address the needs and interests of all students while recognizing their unique abilities. It is the position of this district to actively promote and develop a program for gifted and talented students who are capable of high performance at all educational levels. Students who excel consistently or show the potential to excel in general intellectual ability or who exhibit high performance in language arts, math, science, and or social studies are provided opportunities to participate in the Ashland Gifted and Talented Program.
