Animal problems should be reported to the Idaho Humane Shelter (343-3166) by anyone living in Boise or Ada County. Garden City (472-2950) and Meridian (846-7300) have their own animal control officers who can be reached during the daytime by calling their respective stations or by calling the non-emergency number for Dispatch (377-6790). You should only call 911 for animal calls that involve in-progress attacks where a person’s safety is in jeopardy or if an animal is on a major roadway and hampering the safe flow of traffic.
