What is the PORCHE?
The PORCHE is a computer-operated information receiving system. When you have an electrical interruption and you call our trouble report phone number ( 298-6072 ), you will receive a recorded message asking for information. You can rest assured that your address and phone number will be automatically recorded for retrieval later by our power plant personnel. You will be given the option to leave a message that our dispatcher on duty will listen to and act upon. Our power personnel will be able to work directly on correcting the power outage, not answering phones. The result will be shorter interruption periods. With the PORCHE, we can answer more phone calls faster and glean more information. We calculate that with the increased phone answering capabilities, we can get eight times more information at least eight times faster than the older, traditional method of answering the lines.
