What is the psyche of a dry drunk ?
A Phantom’s Rose has given you a very good answer – the psyche of the dry drunk is not a healthy one! All I could add to it is to say that a “dry drunk”, is a person who, having put the cork in the bottle, still has all the emotional problems that they had when they were drinking because they haven’t yet grasped that what they need to change is themselves. Putting the bottle down is only the beginning of the journey – if you don’t deal with the problems that caused you to drink in the first place (and those problems are invariably emotional/psychological), you will just remain a dry drunk – until you pick the bottle up again, or drive yourself, and everybody around you – crazy! If you know someone who is going through this themselves, tell them I wish them well.
