What is the purpose of the assignment notebook?

The purpose of the assignment notebook is to get prepared for the upper grades and start responsibility for homework and assignments. The students are given time daily to fill out the assignment notebook and then they are to check it to see what they might have for homework each afternoon. They then take it home and parents check to see that homework is complete and they sign it and the student returns it the next day to be checked by me.
