What is the purpose of the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Fee?
The purpose of the Fee is to fund on-going programs to meet local, state and federal water quality requirements for the drainage facilities serving the properties within the City of Santa Clarita. The Fee is necessary to help fund the costs to design, construct, operate, maintain, improve and replace storm drainage facilities which collect storm and surface water runoff and convey and treat such runoff before it is discharged into the Santa Clara River. It is also necessary to inspect, monitor, and take enforcement action related to illegal dumping, illicit discharges, and various water quality concerns.
