WHAT IS THE ROLLING HILLS GROUP?
The Rolling Hills Group is a Tennessee-based group that includes hospital executives, business leaders and a former BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee leader. The group — named for its members’ meeting place, the Rolling Hills Farm in Williamson County — has met regularly for 18 months to develop a proposal for achieving universal health care, utilizing both public and private funding. The proposal, which planners say would pay for itself, includes a requirement that all Americans have comprehensive insurance by 2019. It also would prohibit insurers from denying coverage for people with pre-existing conditions.
