What is the teams attitude about the first boys tennis team state finals appearance in school history?
Joseph Nikitas: I feel like we have good attitude toward it. We have a strong desire to win and should do well up there. We’ll do our best and hopefully win the state. C-J: How do you approach a match against a team you know nothing about? Nikitas: We feel like that’s going to help us. We can’t go in thinking we’re going to win. They’re going to be good, and we have to play our best to win. We can’t be cocky and we have to bring our “A” game to beat them. C-J: With four seniors on the team, did you feel like the state finals was a reachable goal? Nikitas: We feel like our experience is important. In a tight situation, having been through four years helps us get through them. We knew we had a chance to get there. We were going to play in the offseason and get better, so we knew we had a good chance. C-J: What’s the strength of your game? Nikitas: My strength is serving and my volleying ability. That helps my partner be aggressive at the net and we’re able to win points pretty quickly. C
