What is the true area of toxics released in the Cypress Creek area?
At this time we are unsure of the extent of contamination along Cypress Creek. There is not enough historical information on discharge activities along the Creek to determine exactly when the contamination occurred and how far way from the creek the contamination extends. Currently, Velsicol is performing soil sampling along the length of Cypress Creek at the direction of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC). This soil sampling will determine the extent of contamination along the creek.
