What is the UNCFs performance record for endowments?
In addition to administering the Ossie Davis Endowment, as well as 450 scholarship and internship programs, and UNCF was chosen to administer the Gates Millennium Scholars Program, established with a $1 billion grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, in partnership with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, the Organization of Chinese Americans and the American Indian Graduate Center Scholars. These are part of UNCF’s long-term portfolio. UNCF invests according to Prudent Investment Standards. As of March 31, 2007, (which is the end of UNCF’s fiscal year) UNCF’s Long-Term, Diversified Investment Portfolio totaled nearly $90 million, and they are invested in stocks, bonds, money market funds and alternative investments.
