What is the use of the ON-OFF switch located in the boot on the left side of TEMS equipped cars?

The switch in the boot is for de-activation of the TEMS air suspension. This is recommended when the car is being lifted on a hoist by the sills, leaving the wheels hanging in the air and suspension fully extended. After lowering the car down to ground again the switch should be switched “ON”, otherwise a red warning message that the air suspension system is disabled is displayed in the combination meter.
