What is the VMS and what does it do?
The VMS, or Virtual Memory System, is essentially a memory card that allows you to save your game progress. VMS also has a number of other functions, like Its ability to play games (much like the Game Boy) on its mini Liquid Crystal display screen The ability to trade game data without actually being plugged into a Dreamcast. VMS can also be taken to the arcades and plugged into NAOMI arcade systems where your game data can be used to help you get through arcade versions of Dreamcast games. The VMS Liquid Crystal display screen can be used to enter hidden commands in sports and strategy games so your opponent (in 2 player mode) cannot see. It can be used as a radar in a first person shooting game like Unreal. It can also be used as an inventory display list in an action game like Tomb Raider.
