A website is made up of files like the ones you have on your own computer at home. In order to make your files accessible to other people 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on the Internet, the files that make up your website must be placed on a computer hard drive which is connected to the Internet. This computer where your website is hosted is called a “server”. Hosting usually costs around $24.95 per month depending on the size of your website, what you are using the site for, and how many visits or “hits” your site gets.
