The datacenter we use has generators for back-up power but major electricity shortages could also result in server downtime. If you find a web hosting company that promises 100% uptime, they are being dishonest and misleading you in order to secure your business. Having said all that, we aim for an achievable 99.95% guaranteed uptime. In order to achieve this our servers are monitored automatically 24/7/365 and if a server is not online or responsive the monitoring system will reboot that server via the APC Reboot port within 10 SECONDS.
